I’ve found that many people in the Ubuntu community, and the Linux community at large, ask the same couple of questions or want to do similar tasks - enable compiz - use conky to monitor your system - etc. I’ve also found that the Ubuntu forums are getting rather large, and it is tough to find the post that will solve the problem you are having. This blog will serve as a “How to” for those things and more, and moreover help you get back on your feet if you ever have to start over with your installation. Most of the posts should be distribution independent, however at times there are steps that will be different. I recommend that you use this site as a starting point, and check the forums for your distribution of Linux and its documentation as well.
